From dual-balloon to triple-balloon design.
The Gen 2 TUCBDP product — developed under Prof. Guo Yinglu with multi-center clinical collaboration — evolved from single-balloon to patented triple-balloon architecture.
R&D history
Developed under the leadership of urology expert Prof. Guo Yinglu, with clinical teams at Peking University First Hospital, Shanghai Renji Hospital, Zhejiang University Affiliated Hospital, and dozens of other institutions across China.
Dual-balloon design
Inner + outer balloon structure. Required digital rectal exam or ultrasound for positioning. Accumulated extensive multi-center data (Zhou 2022, N=2,050).
Triple-balloon, no-assist positioning
Patented architecture: Positioning Balloon locks at bladder neck, Anchoring Balloon prevents migration, Working Balloon delivers uniform columnar expansion — no rectal exam or ultrasound required.
Core technical features
Triple-balloon architecture
Three independently controlled balloons along the catheter shaft — each corresponding to a segment of the prostatic urethra. Inflated sequentially for uniform columnar dilation.
Independent pressure control
Each balloon pressurized independently, letting the urologist adjust parameters to the patient's specific anatomy and obstruction pattern.
Medical-grade materials
High-strength polyurethane balloon material for radial force and shape stability. Catheter body balanced for flexibility and pushability through the urethra.
Trans-urethral access
Natural urethral pathway entry. Bladder-neck lock + anchoring fixation enables objective placement without imaging assistance in routine cases.
Intellectual property
Multiple invention and utility model patents cover balloon structure, catheter control mechanisms, and pressure algorithms. Trademark registration held for TUCBDP. International patent filings in progress. The IP portfolio forms a core technology barrier for partners and investors.
